August Member Highlight!

This month KT Crafts Design Team is happy to introduce "Patti" as our member of the month. Patti has graciously agreed to share some of her secrets and quirks with us!

1. Tell us about Patti, "behind the smile" that we see!

You all know that my number one hobby is scrapping. I also love to bake, sew and decorate. When I want to relax you can find me watching HGTV. I’m happiest when I am creating something. I don’t leave home in the morning without a list. I like to accomplish a little bit of something every day.
2. What is your favorite time of year, and why?

Summer! One word: warmth! I love the heat and feel that I’m definitely living in the wrong part of the country. LOL! When hubby and I retire, we’ll be spending our winters in Florida.

3. What got you into this paper crafting that we are all so passionate about?

I’ve been scrapping since I was a teenager. I was the Historian for a high school Sorority and needed to take pictures at every event and place them into a huge scrapbook. I got really into this hobby when I wanted to make something special after my family did the National Park Loop tour in 2001.

4. What is your favorite aspect of this paper craft?

I love to see how people use scrapbook products so differently. Bright colored patterned paper and matching embellishments make me want to run to my scrap room.

5. Your cards are always so unique, what inspires your card designs?

What mostly inspires me is people. I will think of the person that I am making the card for. I find I make the best cards when they have a purpose.

6. If you could write a book about any subject and have it published, what would it be?

Raising children with manners.

Fall is in the air!

Here in Sweden it sure is, the trees are changing colors and it's a bit chilly in the mornings.

While we still enjoy these last days of late summer or early fall (yes, I must admit I love this time of year!) we at the Design Team has another challenge for you. This one is created by Vicki.

Use the ad layout as a sketch and create your own design with the word "fall" in the title.

Here's my layout! I love this ad sketch. I also used Dawn's technique to make the flower. It is made out of tulle to look like a clown collar!

August 13th Challenge - School Photos!

With the themes for August being End of Summer and Back to School.
For this challenge I want you to go dig in the box of photo's or hunt up school photo's of either yourself or of your kids and create a LO with those photo's.
Could be first day photo's, school picture or anything else school related.

Challenge your Great Expectations!

With the themes for August being End of Summer and Back to School, I would like to know more about your expectations - for the start of school, the new season or anything else you or your family expect from the last months of the year.

Except for having Great Expectations as the theme, your LO should consist at least one each of the following:A square, a rectangle, a circle, an oval and a scalloped edge!
