"Inside My Heart"

My naked challenge LO, "Inside My Heart" was accepted for the gallery on the Basic Grey Site today. Now I have a mini album and a LO on their site. Very exciting since its been almost a year since my last posting on there.

I really put my "heart" (LOL!, Really, I did) into my newest LO. It took me a couple of weeks to decide what I wanted to journal. I had a lot I wanted to say, but needed to put it into as few words as possible because of the room that I allowed for journaling. When I finished the notes and rewrote it a few times, it turned out just the way I had hoped.

I, have a happy heart!

Vicki

Naked Challenge

Okay, get your minds out of the gutter! This is not what you think it is!

The "Naked LO Challenge" is a LO with NO PICTURES.
This is not a premade LO where you will add pictures after completion.
I would like to see how you can create a LO without using any pictures. This gives you lots of room to tell a great story and show off your artistic style.
Get out your markers, stamps, and punches, and put them to work for you. Make your doodling and journaling the visual reference on your page(s)!
Please be sure to post your LO here in the challenge thread.
If you are a member of another site and have it in the gallery there, you may link it in the challenge thread http://ktcrafts.8.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=764

Crafty Girl Vicki offered up this wonderful challenge!!!

Also check out the Review It Challenge!!
Simply review products in the store and post the review in the store!
Easy enough. The person with the most reviews wins!!!

Coming Soon!

I am so excited about some things that will be going on in the store and site in general. It is exciting!

First - I want to tell you about the kits!

Starting now, we will be announcing all the kits for the next three months on the site. That will help you when making decisions about the kits and it will also help you buy products so you do not buy something and then get it in a kit the next month! We hope this will be a wonderful feature for all our present and future kit members!

We also want to offer some choices for kits. So keep a look out for other kit options!

Now we will only give the paper line... (some things have to be a surprise :) ) Also new... all the cardstock in the kits will come from WorldWin. We were so impressed with this cardstock at CHA we knew it was the best choice!

August - Dream Street Sweet Confection
another option in August will be the 3Bugs party box kit with their new back porch collection

September - Fancy Pants Botanical Collection

October - Piggy Tales Chicken Little

Check out our new Kit Page to see these new lines http://ktcrafts1.homestead.com/kit.html

If you have an idea of a company that you would like to see featured in a kit just let us know!

CHA was awesome!

Wow! Its so hard to believe that summer CHA is over already! What a fantastic time I had with the other Crafty Girl members of the KT Craft Design Team. There was so much to see it was almost overwhelming! All of that color and inspiration under one roof was truly amazing. I met Elsie Flanagan, Kellie Crowe, and the editors of Paper Craft, Creating Keepsake and Simple Scrapbook magazines too! We did make n' takes, took classes and lots of pictures. Barb and I each won the new Scrap a dex from Zsiage also! The food was good, but the company was better!

It was the first time our DT members have met in person and I have to say it was great! I met Kelly, the owner of KT Crafts, Kristy, and Barb. We spent a lot of time talking about new products and ideas. It was wonderful to have such an opportunity! It was sad to say good bye, but we will definitely meet again soon!I am adding a few pics of all of us while we were there. The first pic is the four of us on our last evening at CHA. We're all looking a little tired to say the least! Next is one of me with Elsie. Isn't she just the cutest? Then Barb, Kristy and me. What a wonderful experience! Vicki

CHA!!!

WOW.. that is all I can say!!!

A good friend told me that I would cry when I went into the hall with all the exhibitors. Well, I did not quite cry, but boy was I excited! As a first timer at CHA it was a little overwhelming, but in a wonderfully good way. I know for the first half hour or so I do not think I saw a thing! I just took in all the sights and sounds!

Thursday night Vicki and I had the opportunity to take a class from World Win. I went in thinking I would like it, but not really prepared to be wowed! This was not the case at all!!! I loved the stuff! AND- a little birdy told me it might be in the store before we know it!

Friday and Saturday was just wonderful! Even better was meeting Barb, Kelly and Vicki in person! They are all so wonderful!!! I will share some pictures with you and I know that everyone else will have to share their thoughts from the show~

For now I will say that there is some exciting stuff coming!
Piggy Tales
Flair
World Win
Page Frames
Prima
Doodle Bug
3 Bugs
Scenic Route
Flair
Tim Holtz
Zoom Albums
Dream Street
Zutter
Technique Tuesday
Fancy Pants
Just Rite
Urban Lilly

AND MORE!!!!!!!!!

And let me say... some of these things are very cool and unusual!!!

Crafty Member Beth M

We thought it would be fun to get to know some of our members. Well, we could not think of a better member to start with then BethM

so here is my little interview with Beth

What is one of your favorite movies and why?

This may sound funny, but I think it would have to be Toy Story. I think that it's a well made movie that appeals to adults, as well as kids, because it takes us back to our youth with some of the toy characters used in the movie & it's a good story with meaning. Maybe I pick this movie because my DD loves it, watches it time & time again, and yet I don't get sick of seeing it.

What words would you use to describe your style?

I don't know that I have a so called "style." Perhaps eclectic with bling. I do what appeals to me, sometimes it's clean & simple, big & bold or soft & sweet. I really never was too much into the shabby look though. I couldn't get past all the clutter on the pages to see the pictures. I've seen a few that appeal to me, but they were the less busier looking ones.

When did you start scrapbooking?

I started scrapbooking when my son just turned 4, so I guess that was in 1996.

What got you interested?

My best friend had been invited to her 2nd or 3rd Creative Memories party & thought I might want to come too. I went with her & she showed me her album ~ I was hooked. Scrapbooking has come a looooong way since those days. I'm thankful for that!

What does your family think of your scrapbooking?

My husband can take it or leave it, but DOES want me to finish our wedding album, since it's only been 7 years on the 15th of July. My teenage son secretly likes that I do pages about him, but doesn't care to have them displayed online. My 3 yr. old daughter likes to cut paper while I scrap & LOVES to look at all the pages I've done. My stepmom & a friend of my Mother-In-Law are my biggest cheerleaders though. They're my ego-boosters. They carry on so much, almost to the point of embarassment.

My friend that got me started in scrapbooking jokingly told me that I put more thought into my scrapbook pages than she does her marriage! LOL I took it as a compliment.

Check out her wonderful gallery here

Thank you Beth for letting us get to know you a little better!!!

Look To The Sky!

Color inspiration. It is all around us. With our nation's birthday just around the corner, what could be more inspiring than the colors we see on the 4th of July? Man-made colors....fireworks....reds, blues, greens, purples, a collage of color, splattered across the sky like paint on a canvas! I loved fireworks as a child and still feel exhilirated when I see them as an adult. Perhaps that is the child that remains inside of me.

Nothing inspires me more than Mother Nature's palette. We are surrounded by wonderful colors every day. The sky so blue, the trees so green...brightly colored flowers and falling leaves. Even the blues and grays of winter are inspiring.

So whether it be man-made or from nature, there is color inspiration all around us.

Have a safe and happy holiday!
