February's featured member at KT Crafts is our Southern Belle, Brittany!

Tell us about you, Brittany, the person.
I'm shy and quiet. I prefer to sit at home and cuddle on a Saturday night while watching a good movie than to be out at a bar. I grew up with 2 brothers, but I also have 5 sisters.

How long have you been scrapbooking and what got you started?
I have been scrapping for about 2 years now. My interest got peeked about 5 1/2 years ago when my aunt began doing baby books for her grandson. She began dabbling in the "sticker sneeze" scrapbooking, and everytime I would visit my cousin, they always had something new to show me! I never really gave it any thought until about 3 years ago when I first met a few of DF's friends at a party. That's where I met Jenni, and she showed me some of her pages, and I was impressed. they were nothing like what my aunt had done. I was intrigued. Then one day, she made me sit down and give it a try, and I was hooked! I never looked back!

What color combination do you find yourself using most often?
Lately it's neutrals with pops of reds and blues and greens.

When you are photographing someone or something, do you have a specific angle and/or details that you focus on?
It all depends on what the subject is doing. If it's my cats, I like to take pictures of them being themselves, laying around, looking outside at the birds, or trying to kitty-kung-fu you as you walk by. Now if it's a person, I try to stand back and blend into the background so I can get those candid shots rather than posed ones. I love natural backlighting from the sun when taking outdoor pictures. During the spring through fall months I enjoy taking photos of plants and trees as well as landscapes. I love the bright, vibrant colors of nature all around us! Fall is one of my favorite seasons because of all the beautiful colors that can be found within a few feet. I love spring because everything is so new. One of my favorite things to capture is waterdrops on flowers or other plants after a fresh morning rain. Guess you can say, I like to capture the little things in life!

Have you tried any other paper crafts...altering, cards, etc.?
I dabble in altering here and there. I do make a few cards now and then, but rarely do they find new homes.

If you could try anything and not fail, what would it be? Seriously, getting my cosmetology license. I took up cosmetology in high school, and love doing it. I just don't do well with stress and tests. I've been out of high school 5 years, this May, and every year I say I'm going to state boards but always seem to find reasons to put it off.

Thanks so much Brittany for letting us get to know you better!
